At Indy STEAM Academy (Indy STEAM), we fully address pandemic learning interruption and strive to close the achievement gaps for Indianapolis youth. Our scholars create solutions to real-world problems and challenges through our STEAM-based instructional model. Scholars are encouraged to build things and create objects, practice the scientific method, and fine-tune digital literacy with iPads and Chromebooks.

We connect classroom learning with real-life experiences, focusing on STEAM subjects while providing social and emotional support to develop well-rounded individuals. Nurturing practical skills and encouraging self-expression through music, drama, dance, and the visual arts helps our students find joy in their education.

7 – Longer School Day, Longer School Year

Our 185-day school year is five days longer than traditional public schools. Additionally, our children engage in seven hours of daily instruction, which equates to 370 more hours or 52 additional days of learning compared to traditional public schools. This approach ensures our scholars are better equipped for academic success in the future.

8 – Personalized Attention 

Our 20:1 student-to-teacher ratio ensures that each scholar receives the individual attention they need to succeed on their learning journey within our spacious state-of-the-art facilities. We also provide 60 minutes of extra help during the school day to ensure scholar success in reading and mathematics.

Scholars can engage in a range of exciting and stimulating after-school activities to further enhance their cognitive abilities and promote wellness– including athletics, dance, drama, playing musical instruments, coding, Lego, and Robotics. Our athletics program helps to build good sportsmanship and encourages physical fitness.
