Meet Our Experienced School Leader

Yvonne Bullock, Ph.D. – Ex-Officio of the Board
CEO/Founder and Head of School

A public school educator with 35 years of experience, including 8 years serving as a Teacher, 6 years as an Assistant Principal, 8 years as a Principal, 2 years as an Assistant Director for School Improvement, 2 years as Director of Teaching and Learning, 1.5 years as an Executive Director for Curriculum and Instruction, 3 years as a Superintendent, and 2 years as an Adjunct Instructor and Faculty Supervisor for Guided Field and Student Teaching Experiences.

Yvonne Bullock focused her career on providing a high quality education for all students, and supporting teachers and administrators with resources and professional development to provide effective instruction and leadership. Some of Yvonne Bullock’s accomplishments include improving the academic achievement of students in reading and mathematics, and improving PSAE and SAT scores while serving as a Superintendent in Illinois. Yvonne Bullock has written numerous grants including School Improvement, Reading First, Supplemental Afterschool Program, and 21st Century grants to support reading, mathematics, and fine arts instruction, as well as parent training and involvement activities. She has written the Enhancing Education Through Technology grant to enhance the integration of technology with instruction using interactive whiteboards, student response systems, and classroom computers. Other accomplishments include the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award while serving as an administrator for one of eight of the lowest achieving schools in the Cincinnati Public School district. She has also worked with two Indiana high schools and one middle school to provide support with the transformation process to prevent these schools from takeover by the Indiana State Department of Education.

Yvonne Bullock has made presentations on “Closing the Achievement Gap” for the Illinois State Department of Education No Child Left Behind Conference and Illinois Superintendent’s Conference on Demographics, and presented “The Condition of Education in America” for community organizations. She is a member of the Eastern Star Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority – Sigma Omega Chapter, National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE), National Council of Negro Women – Indianapolis Chapter, American Association of School Administrators (AASA), and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), serves on the Board of the Children’s Policy and Law Initiative of Indiana and works with the Positive School Discipline Institute in Indianapolis.

Yvonne Bullock was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Withrow High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Science degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Supervision from the University of Cincinnati, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Leadership from Ohio University in Athens Ohio.

She is the wife of William G. Bullock III, and has one stepson and two grandsons. She enjoys reading, tennis, sewing, and playing the piano in her spare time.
